Schools and libraries are under pressure to deliver reliable digital learning experiences, but many manage multiple disconnected network tools that slow response times and limit visibility. This leads to longer downtime during incidents, higher support costs, and less time for strategic projects. RUCKUS solves these challenges by providing reliable, high-performance networks that simplify management, accelerate troubleshooting, and support seamless online learning for every student.

E-Rate Program FAQs for K-12 Schools and Libraries
E-Rate Category Two funding helps schools and libraries pay for internal networking equipment. It covers wireless, switches, cabling, and management tools that bring broadband inside classrooms. C2 funding is separate from Category One, which covers internet services
Use the RUCKUS® E-Rate Eligibility Product Search above to verify eligibility and avoid listing ineligible SKUs that can delay or jeopardize funding.
Eligible products include Wi-Fi 6/6E and Wi-Fi 7 access points, ICX® switches, routers, cabling, firewalls, and network management licenses. The RUCKUS One® and RUCKUS® AI™ cloud platforms qualify as network management. Basic installation services are also eligible.
Schools and libraries can receive 20% to 85% discounts depending on poverty level and rural/urban status. Higher-poverty districts receive greater discounts. These savings directly apply to approved networking hardware and software.
C2 budgets reset July 1, 2025. Schools get $167 per student over five years, and libraries get $4.77 per square foot, with a $25,000 minimum. These limits define the maximum E-Rate funding available for networking projects.
Common errors include listing ineligible SKUs, choosing the wrong service provider/manufacturer, missing deadlines, and over-explaining. Double-check entries and only provide what’s requested.
Align your project with eligible internal connections (IC/MIBS). Consider modern Wi-Fi 7 APs (e.g., RUCKUS® R770/T670/T770), switching, and management with RUCKUS One® and RUCKUS AI ™ platforms, while separating any ineligible items.
Most schools use C2 for Wi-Fi® upgrades, switch refreshes, and PoE expansion. Adding power for next-gen APs is common. Many also adopt cloud and AI tools like the RUCKUS One® and RUCKUS AI™ platforms to improve network visibility and troubleshooting.
E-Rate does not fund student devices, servers, cameras, or door security systems. Non-network managed services are also excluded. Only items that directly support broadband delivery inside the campus are covered.
RUCKUS® provides Wi-Fi 6 and Wi-Fi 7 access points, long-life switches, and cloud management with RUCKUS One® and RUCKUS AI ™ solutions. Our lasting products can maximize each five-year E-Rate cycle. RUCKUS® also offers special promo pricing to stretch budgets further.
