Otani University

About

Otani University in Kita-ku, Kyoto City, adopted RUCKUS products to improve the wireless LAN environment of Keimonkan Hall, which was completed between 2016 and 2018, and in the fall of 2024 became the first university in Japan to introduce the Wi-Fi 7 compatible model, the RUCKUS R770.

He spoke about the background to their early adoption of Wi-Fi 7, why they have continued to choose RUCKUS products, and their outlook for future networks.

The deciding factors for the introduction were RUCKUS's resistance to radio interference and its ability to cover a wide area with a single access point. This led to its deployment across the entire campus, and the wireless LAN environment remains stable to this day. Going forward, the university is looking to utilize AI and other technologies to achieve even smarter operations.
